Happy St Paddy's Day ...
Nobody likes the English. Sometimes it makes me sad. But on days like today, St Paddy's Day, and days like Cinco De Mayo, it's actually quite a relief.
Being internationally despised means our nations "red letter days" are not made a mockery of by the inbev-anheuser conglomerate.
Just as Irish Greg lamented on this morning's KFOG breakfast show. They basically take three or four of your people's worst stereotypes and use them to build a shallow fiction representing your entire culture.
For the English you can imagine what that would mean for St George's Day: Dancing around a maypole, wearing a dragon on your head, some bad teeth, and listening to a sound-track of Steeleye Span, The Beetles and Adel.
Thank god we English aren't popular.
Sláinte!
... and cupcakes.
