Ofcom allows iPods as personal radio stations

Guardian Unlimited Technology | Technology | Ofcom allows iPods as personal radio stations

Ah-haa! You see, this is the trouble with the EU. Sovereign laws washed aside in the interest of homogonization and corporate greed.

    "But we're in the strange position where it is legal for us to sell it within the European Union, but customers can only use it in other European countries. I think it's all a bit silly really." Mr Cole said hooking music players up to other devices was one of customers' most common requirements: "We must get 20 people a day in our shops asking how to connect an iPod to their radio or hi-fi."

typedef int MyFooingType

typedef int MyFooingType;
#define MyFooingFirst 0x0001
#define MyFooingSecond 0x0002

Why oh why oh why do people do that!?

If you're going to go to the trouble of defining a type for your function parameters you might as well go that little step farther and make it a frigging enum, so those of us who need to use your code have a cat in hells chance of knowing what values are allowed in the damned parameter.

Oh, it's OK you say, because the #defines are right there next to the typedef but to you I have to say NO!. Type telling that to my IDE when it's trying to autocomplete variable values and it can't.

Just for the record:

typedef enum
{
MyFooingFirst = 0x0001,
MyFooingSecond = 0x0002
} MyFooingType;

Plans mobiVoIP - Plans

MobiVoIP

Now this looks handy. Combination of my Palm T|X, Free MetroFi Metropolitan WiFi and this VoIP app makes Santa Clara a great place to call international.

They should turn their lights off...

'They should turn their lights off, it's us tax payers paying their electric bill.'

That was Debbies's reaction last night when I stood with  her in the back garden, pointed up to a brightly shining object and informed her "That's the International Space Station".

I think she was serious too.

Things you don't want to here ...

'Come on, you can peddle faster than that can't you!?'

Coming from the back seat of your tandem, when (a) you CAN'T peddle any faster and (b) it's your six year old son on the back seat of the tandem.
